Riot Games released a new major update for 2XKO, focusing on addressing a variety of bugs and other issues impacting the game and opting to leave balance adjustments for a later patch down the road. Starting life as Project L at Riot Games, 2XKO spent a good amount of time in development, which finally came to an end on October 7, 2025, when the game launched for PC players. Through continued updates and tweaks, Season 1 saw the launch of new content as well as the game's anticipated launch for the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 consoles.
