Role-playing games are a cornerstone of the video game industry; that has been the case since the mid-80s, and that will continue to be the case until the Sun goes supernova and reduces the Earth to ash. Not only are these games popular, but they often help push gaming forward, both technically and narratively. More importantly, the genre comes in so many forms that there should be something to meet everyone's needs, including people who want an RPG that can make them feel like an OP god who should be feared and respected.
